Annual Fundraising Appeal

Through the miracle of our collective effort, the Mountain Rain Zen community continues to flourish. In this spirit, we invite you to donate to our annual fundraiser. Your tax-deductible financial contribution, no matter how big or small, will allow MRZC to thrive and be of benefit to all beings.

DONATE NOW

In 2025, 156 people said yes to membership with MRZC as a concrete commitment to their practice. 50-60 people attend our regular Sunday sits across both sites with folks joining through the cloud zendo. Bright Stream temple + garden, and the Wall Street zendo continue to be well used and cared for.

There are many communities within our sangha such as the DEIA committee, the Engaged Buddhist Practice Group, and Collective Liberation, making diverse and important offerings

There are costs associated with running these spaces and events, and the income generated from retreat and workshop fees only covers a fraction what is needed. Donations are essential to maintaining Mountain Rain’s work and practice.

WAYS TO GIVE

The amazing thing about monthly giving is that I don’t miss the monthly amount the way I might with a single gift. $5/month = $60 a year. $10/month = $120 a year. Set up is super easy and it makes a big impact for MRZC the more people do it.

As we enter these darkest days of the year, a time of quiet reflection after the intensity of practice period and rohatsu sesshin, we find so many things to be grateful for in our sangha life.

Our Zen community has reaped the benefits of the gifts of countless ancestors. Let’s keep the generosity flowing onwards!

For 2026, the sangha can look forward to the yearly cycle of sesshin, the genzo-e, retreats and regular practice, as well as visiting teachers and special events such as film nights and potlucks.
