Mochi Fundraiser
/On the final day of the 2026 Mountains and Rivers sesshin, the Engaged Buddhist Practice Group will launch a daifuku mochi fundraiser. The fundraiser will be in support of Victoria Hand Project. Their mission is to promote health and relieve poverty by providing prosthetic arms to amputees in-need, who have limited or no access to prosthetic care, in more than 11 countries around the world. As well as being an NGO working with amputees worldwide, often in areas of conflict, they . build capacity for long term sustainable care - by training and supporting local clinicians, custom functional prosthetics can be printed in the communities of the recipientsm and can be easily fixed or updated as people grow.
Starting at the end of sesshin, daifuku mochi will be available with a donation to Victoria Hand Project (VHP) which you can make off their website HERE (3 for a suggested $10.00).
We will also be providing a QR code for donations at sesshin or cheques can be mailed to VHP.
The fundraiser will be launched at sesshin and continued into the fall (likely once per month at Wall St and BST). The mochi will be frozen. Please bring an ice pack and insulated container if you will want to bring them home frozen.
