News from the Mountain Rain Council

At our recent Annual General Meeting, the new council for the coming year was elected, with acknowledgement of all the good work council has done this past year. Deep bows of gratitude to outgoing treasurer Kakuko Kaye Simard, for her years of keeping our organization on track financially, and to outgoing secretary, Nindo Trudy Grienaur, for skillfully navigating changes in Google Workspace and membership policy, both stepping down from council.

We are happy to welcome back Etsudo Michele Davidson, stepping down as president but staying on as member-at-large, Unmon Jacob Butula, as new president, Tosho Megan Adam as vice president, Jonathan Walker as new secretary, and new members Shomon Dave Chang and Matthew Robinson as members-at-large.

A new working group has begun to plan the process for reviewing and evaluating our sangha's use of Bright Stream Temple over the coming months. In early September questionnaires will go out to the general sangha, and to those who have spent time in residence at the temple. The working group will also prepare a financial report and a report on the activities and events that have been held at the temple. The aim is to provide an information package to sangha members prior to holding a meeting for discussion.

Mountain Rain is fortunate to have so many sincere and committed members willing to step up and support our practice and our organization in so many way. Deep bows of gratitude!
