Mountain Rain Zen’s administration assistant is also a professional storyteller! At the invitation of Myoshin Kate McCandless, Naomi Steinberg will perform the Goosefeather Kamishibai for sangha members and friends.

Kamishibai is a traditional form of storytelling from Japan, that uses illustrations in a box. Some say it is connected to the lineage of itinerant monks who would use picture scrolls for transmitting complex Buddhist concepts.

Naomi will share a bit about the motivation for working within the kamishibai form, and about the recent experience of taking her show on tour to Toronto and back.
