Mountain Rain Zen invites you to participate in the first event of Celebrating the Voices of Women in Buddhism; Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow. This is a monthly, year-long speaker series sponsored by the Soto Zen Buddhist Association. It has been planned by the SZBA DEIA committee and will include Dharma talks, panels, and intimate conversation with Buddhist women and teachers.

Because many of the events conflict with Mountain Rain’s practice schedule, or may be hard to attend due to time zone differences, we will schedule replays of each session, either in-person/hybrid, or Zoom only.

MRZC guiding teacher Myoshin Kate McCandless will participate in and support this series, and on February 17 we will do a replay of the series’ first event entitled Bowing to Lotuses Blooming in the Mud: Gratitude as an agent for change.

This will be a hybrid workshop, rooted in the essence of Soto Zen Buddhism. Join Dr. Paula Arai, author of Women Living Zen, Bringing Zen Home, and The Little Book of Zen Healing, as she gracefully demonstrates a sacred gratitude ritual that can generate positive change. The workshop attendees will learn a profound Soto Zen gratitude ritual, and participate in enriching group activities to share insights and experiences.. Together, let’s uncover the power of gratitude in a supportive community.

Registration is sliding scale

$40, $30, $20 NOTE: 3/4 of fees will go to SZBA, 1/4 to MRZC
