Nehan (Parinirvana) Day Talk at ZenYU

After teaching for over forty years Shakyamuni Buddha died at the age of eighty, achieving parinirvana, or final enlightenment., and yet he died a very human death. The story of how he prepared the sangha for his death has much to teach us. This year we will commemorate Nehan Day at ZenYU with a talk by Myoshin Kate McCandless and a very simple ceremony. Please have a candle on hand, if you can.

Part of our regular ZenYU practice . Everyone welcome!
