Please join us for this non-residential silent retreat which opens Mountain Rain's 17th annual 6-week practice period, led by resident teachers Myoshin Kate McCandless and Shinmon Michael Newton, and shuso Jikai Vicki Turay. Our practice period theme this year will be cultivating engaged activity in the world. Please join us in exploring how our dharma practice supports responding to the suffering within and around us. (Full practice period details and schedule will be posted soon.)
The retreat is open to beginners and experienced practitioners. It will include zazen (sitting meditation), kinhin (walking meditation), dharma talks by the teachers, a Way-Seeking Mind talk by the shuso, and dokusan (individual meetings with the teachers).
Friday 7:00-9:00 The evening will close with a ceremony to open the practice period. and invite our Jikai Vicki Turay to be shuso. Each participant will be invited to share their intentions for the practice period. Everyone welcome!
