The Garden at Bright Stream Temple

It takes many hands for this garden thrive. It is the care and attention given to weeding, pruning and harvesting, that ensures there are flowers for use on our altars and herbs in the residence kitchen. Every year, a crop of apples offer their nourishment!!

Liz Toohey-Wiese is spearheading garden care at Bright Stream this year. Thank you Liz! We are seeking folks who would like to be kept in the loop as we make plans for this year’s cycle.

Likely, this will look like a once-a-month work party after Sunday sits. A sangha member (could be several members on rotation), will also take on 1-2 hours a week of garden tending (tasks will vary depending on the season).

Watering will be taken care of by BST occupants. There is no commitment to attend every work party or expectation for a certain number of work days to be performed. We just want to keep as many people as possible on hand for garden support!

If you are interested to know more, please send an email to Liz at ltooheywiese@gmail.com and indicate if you have any previous gardening experience (though none is needed, this can help us understand what is achievable in the coming year).

Our first work party will be at the end of March. Details to come!
